About
In 2005, my family raised its anchors (some would say, slipped off the deep end) and bought a farm. This was an unexpected move, as all of us were city-born and city-bred; not just that, but so were all our ancestors as far back as anyone could remember. Some of these cities were boring minor cities in faraway countries, but they were, by any standard, no less urban for that.
In 2009, I started this blog. It is intended to be a (somewhat fragmented) account of our (mis-) adventures, to act as a warning to the wary and, hopefully, helpful guide to the intrepid. The main purpose of this website is to explain the problems we ran into adjusting to country life and how we dealt with them. I’m a hands-on kinda guy, so many of the posts will take the form of illustrated How-Tos.
